Wright learning curve
Industrial engineering observes that each time cumulative output doubles, the time (or cost) per unit falls to a fixed percentage r of its previous value — an 80% curve means the 2nd unit takes 80% of the 1st unit’s time.

Aerospace & precision assembly often 80–85%. Shipbuilding and labor-heavy work may be 70–80%. Highly automated processes approach 90–95% (little learning).
Assumptions
Stable design, continuous production, measured labor (or cost) follows a power law, and no major process redesign mid-run. Use with care if lots are interrupted or methods change.
First unit takes 100 hours on an 80% curve. Find time for unit 8 and cumulative hours through 16 units.
